Hexagon Agility has signed an exclusive long-term agreement with IVECO BUS to supply fuel systems across IVECO’s global CNG bus range.
This three year agreement builds on two decades of collaboration between the companies, who have together delivered more than 10,000 CNG buses globally.
IVECO BUS is Europe's leading manufacturer of natural gas buses and serves customers across Europe, Latin America, Asia Pacific, Africa and the Middle East.
Hexagon Agility, the world's leading provider of compressed natural gas (CNG) fuel systems, will provide complete fuel systems incorporating its advanced carbon fiber (Type 4) cylinders for all IVECO BUS CNG and biomethane transit vehicles worldwide.

"Our collaboration with IVECO BUS has already helped transit operators deploy over 10,000 buses that are reducing emissions and fleet costs around the world," said Eric Bippus, Chief Commercial Officer at Hexagon Agility.
"Transit agencies are being asked to do more than ever before. They need to reduce emissions, manage costs, improve fuel supply resilience, and deliver reliable service to the communities they serve. To successfully deliver on all of these priorities, we’re now seeing agencies adopting portfolios that combine battery-electric and natural gas-powered buses, matching the right technology to the needs of each route and region."
Supporting public transport decarbonization
Buses remain the backbone of public transport worldwide, accounting for approximately 48% of public transport journeys, according to the International Association of Public Transport (UITP).
Natural gas and biomethane (its drop-in renewable form) are proven, scalable solutions for public transport, delivering immediate emissions reductions and lower operating costs. Biomethane can also be produced locally from organic waste streams, enabling municipalities and fleet operators to strengthen energy resilience, reduce reliance on imported fuels, support circular economy objectives, and, in some applications, achieve carbon-negative lifecycle emissions.
In Europe, CNG and biomethane buses represented 7% of city bus registrations in 2025, rising to more than 20% in France, Greece, and Italy (T&E). Adoption also continues to expand across emerging markets, including Latin America, Asia Pacific, Africa, and the Middle East.
