Hexagon Agility lands record USD 100 million order as AI data center demand drives need for off-grid energy

Jul 07, 2026

Hexagon Agility, a subsidiary of Hexagon Composites and leading global provider of clean fuel solutions for commercial vehicles and bulk gas transportation, has received the largest single order for Mobile Pipeline® modules to date, from Certarus, the North American leader in mobile compressed natural gas (CNG) solutions.

The order represents an estimated value of USD 100 million, and includes an option to purchase additional modules valued at up to USD 25 million by 2028.

The Mobile Pipeline modules will provide reliable CNG supply for newly awarded hyperscale data center projects and growing industrial demand across North America.

A fleet of Mobile Pipeline modules can supply natural gas to support 150 MW of power generation capacity – enough to power a large hyperscale data center or the electricity needs of roughly 90,000 U.S. homes.

“We’re proud to continue building on our more than decade-long collaboration with Certarus, developing technology to address critical infrastructure gaps in how energy is delivered,” said Philipp Schramm, CEO of Hexagon Composites.

"Data centers are being built faster than the energy infrastructure needed to support them. This record Mobile Pipeline order reflects the increasing need for flexible energy solutions that can be deployed quickly, while permanent pipeline infrastructure catches up."

Powering hyperscale data centers

The structural demand for virtual pipeline solutions continues to grow within several industries, including utilities, mining, renewable natural gas, and now, data centers.

Data centers are among the fastest-growing sources of energy demand in the United States, driven by cloud computing and artificial intelligence. In many U.S. regions, power and pipeline infrastructure delays frequently exceed four years, and cannot be deployed fast enough to meet surging power demand. Mobile Pipeline solutions help bridge this gap by delivering natural gas to power generation sites while permanent pipeline infrastructure is being developed.

Record order includes new TITAN 510 platform

Mobile Pipeline® modules have the largest gas transport capacity in North America and are the most efficient virtual pipeline solution worldwide. Built around the world’s largest carbon fiber gas cylinders using advanced type 4 technology, these modules enable the delivery of large volumes of energy by road, rail, or marine, without the need for fixed pipelines.

The order includes Hexagon Agility's newly launched TITAN® 510 module, developed for large-scale applications such as data centers. The module transports approximately 13% more natural gas than its predecessor, helping customers move more energy with fewer assets.

Hexagon Agility has more than 2,250 Mobile Pipeline modules in operation worldwide, supporting industrial gas transportation, power generation and flexible energy infrastructure.
